In most companies, tasks get lost between WhatsApp groups, phone calls and sticky notes. The manager asks “where are we with the maintenance job?” and nobody quite knows. Diwan tasks puts team work in one place, in Arabic and right-to-left (and in English), inside the same system that already holds your people, attendance and payroll.
1. A space for each team
Every team has its own space, and the work in it is cards that move through stages, for example New, In progress, Done. A space shows its cards as a board, a list or a calendar. Moving a card to the next stage can require an approval or certain fields. Ready-made workflow templates give you a head start.
2. “My work”: your tasks, in order
“My work” sorts everything assigned to you into overdue, today, this week and later. At the top sits “Waiting for you”: the approvals and signatures that need your decision. Cards assigned to you also show up in the Diwan inbox.
3. Add a task in one line
Type the task in a single line with the person, the due date and the priority, for example: “Prepare the Homs branch attendance sheet, Rana, Thursday, high priority”. No long forms, no pile of fields.
4. “Requested by me”: where every task has reached
Every task you opened for someone else appears in “Requested by me” with the stage it has reached. A task that stops moving is marked “stuck”, either by hand or automatically. No more chasing people every morning.
5. Flows built in steps, like a recipe
For recurring work you build a flow from simple steps. Each step has an owner and a deadline, and you decide whether it needs an approval or a signature. For more involved cases there is an advanced mode with branches and conditions. A new-hire flow, for example:
- HR prepares the contract, within two days.
- The line manager approves.
- The employee signs the contract electronically.
- IT hands over the laptop and the account.
6. Approval and signature steps
Any step can be marked “approval” or “signature”. At a signature step, the task itself on your company paper, or the latest PDF attached to it, goes out for e-signature, and the task does not move on until everyone has signed. This step needs e-signature switched on too.
7. “Request”: forms for every employee
Any team, such as IT, facilities or purchasing, can open a short request form to all employees, like “Request a laptop” or “Request maintenance”. A request opens a New task for the team to sort, and the employee follows it from “Requested by me” without being a member of the space.
8. Automation rules that read as sentences
No code and no complicated settings. A rule is a plain sentence, such as “when a task is overdue → tell the space manager”. Ready rules are included, for example opening an onboarding task automatically whenever a new employee is added.
Which plan?
Tasks are on from day one for every new company during the 30-day free trial, and on the Diwan plan and above. The company can switch them off or back on under Settings → Features. They are not part of the free plan.
For everyday requests such as leave and advances, see approving a request.
